The Garlic Research Institute was founded in January 1999 to study breeding, active ingredients and the food development of garlics.
Particular emphasis is placed on variety improvement and preservation of Korean native garlics.
The institute consists of four divisions; genetics and breeding, physiology and cultivation, food development, and chemistry and pharmacology. The articles was published in the Proceedings of the Symposium on Making a Brand of the Euisung Garlics (1999).
The International Symposium was held and the results was published in Proceedings of International Symposium of Garlics, Plant Molecular Biology and Breeding in 2001.
