The Institute of Human Ecology was established in April 1999. The purpose of the Institute is to improve the quality of human life through research on Clothing, Food, Housing and Human Development and the Family.

The institute is composed of four research teams studying the Family life, Food and Nutrition, Clothing and Fashion, and Health in life.

The activities of this institution are as follows:

1. 1. To research the family life, food and nutrition, clothing and fashion, and health in life.
2. 2. To develope and proceed research projects.
3. 3. To host symposia, seminars, and public lectures.
4. 4. To publish journals and books on human ecology.
