Introduction

The Department of Military Studies is the only department of its kind in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk region. It fosters creative military experts needed in the 21st century military.

In March 2011, a MOU was signed with the Korean Army for the development of military studies and therefore, the Army is providing full support for the development and operation of Military Studies. Yeungnam University has also established and is pursuing long-term development plans for the development of the Department of Military Studies. Undergraduate education is first emphasized in order to enhance the qualifications and capacities as military officers for the students in the Department of Military Studies. In addition, graduate school programs are also being prepared to foster master's and doctorate's degree holders in the Department of Military Studies, while also installing a research center for Military Studies.
