“Lovely Kimchi sharing event” was conducted by YU on the 30th, participation of more than 120 foreigner students

Transfer of 600 heads of Kimchi to poor neighbors through Gyeongsan-si Voluntary Service Center

  YU (President CHOI Oe-chool) started practice of neighbor love in the winter Kimchi-making season. On the 30th, YU conducted “Lovely Kimchi sharing event” with TheKN Co., Ltd which is operating the University Student Restaurant.


  In the event, more 120 persons consisting of YU staffs and students of 


Student Council and Department of Food Science and Technology participated and made 1,200kg (about 600 heads) of Kimchi in Jeong Restaurant of YU Student Hall. Especially, more than 20 foreigner students also experienced Korean culture making Kimchi and had the opportunity to practice loving neighbors.

  The Kimchi made in the event was transferred to poor neighbors in the area through Gyeongsan-si Voluntary Service Center.


  Kim Yang-seon Dean of Students prepared the Kimchi sharing event and said, “There must be many neighbors suffering from economic and psychological difficulties due to contiguous COVID-19 for two years. I hope that students’ making and sharing Kimchi with neighbors become a motive to practice loving neighbors. I hope all the social members look at their surroundings and practice sharing even small things to make the yearend warm.”
