고대철학의 여러 학파들, 사조들의 형성 배경, 여러 고대 철학자 및 고대철학의 여러 분야에 있어서의 특징적인 제 문제를 전반적으로 연구한다. 자연철학자, 고전철학자 헬레네, 로마시대 철학자들의 사상을 분석하고 그것을 고대철학 전반의 특징과 연관시켜 연습하기 위하여 중요 철학자들의 저서들을 조사하여 그 내용들을 살펴보며 필요한 경우 부분적 혹은 전체적으로 탐독한다.

문화의 개념, 문화철학의 역사, 그리고 문화철학의 대상과 방법을 명확하게 이해하고 문화담론의 역사나 문화비판의 특성에 대해 연구한다. 또 문화철학의 선구자인 짐멜이나 카시러의 철학, 그리고 현대의 아도르노나 마르쿠제, 벤야민 등의 사상가를 중심으로, 문화철학의 근본성격과 방향을 비판적으로 검토한다.

불교철학 연구나 불교철학 연습 등에서 다룰 수 없었던, 불교철학의 제문제들을 주로 토픽 중심으로 다루는 과정이다. 물론 여기에서는 불교와 유가, 도가 및 서양사상과의 교섭문제를 포함하여, 불성과 인성, 법계와 이기 등의 다른 학파와의 관련성 속에서 다룰 수도 있지만, 불교철학 내부의 핵심적인 주제들과 쟁점이 되는 문제들을 집중적으로 선별하여 논의한다.
[B04095] 중국철학의제문제 PROBLEMS OF CHINESE PHILOSOPHY (3(3))
중국철학연구나 중국철학연습 시간에 다루지 않았던 특수한 철학적 문제나 철학자나 문헌들을 자유롭게 논의하는 과목이다. 특히 그동안 크게 주목을 받지 못하였던 문제나 철학사 과정 속에서 언급하지 못한 중국철학속의 다른 중요한 문제들을 선택하여 연구한다. 이런 과목을 통하여 중국철학의 전체적 시각과 흐름, 방향 등을 새롭게 정리할 수 있는 기회가 될 수 있을 것이다. .

고대철학과 그리고 근세철학과 구별되는 중세철학의 근본적 특징을 규명하면서 그 철학적 의미를 비판적으로 고찰한다. 이 경우 이성과 신앙 또는 철학과 신학의 상관관계가 논의의 주제로 부각된다. 다른 한편으로 토마스 아퀴나스 등의 주지주의 내지 합리주의와 아우구스티누스 등의 정의주의 내지 비합리주의의 대립과 그 상대적 의의도 중요시되며 그 밖의 중세철학의 고유한 문제들이 비판적 연구의 주제가 될 것이다.

인간의 본질을 해명하는 학으로서의 철학적 인간학의 개념규정, 철학 내에서의 그의 지위, 그의 방법론, 과학적 인간학 및 신학적 인간학과의 관련성, 인식론 및 존재론과의 관련성, 실존주의와 마르크스주의와 철학적 인간학의 관련성, 인간의 자기이해의 역사 및 앞으로의 전망 그리고 그의 의의 등을 연구하며 이를 위해 철학적 인간학의 중요한 문헌을 선택하여 연습한다.

상고시대부터 최근세에 이르는 동안 계속 논의되어온 가장 중요한 한국철학의 쟁점이 되는 문제나 철학자의 기본적 문헌을 선정하여 한국철학을 연구하는 중요한 토대와 시각을 마련하는데 초점이 있다. 이런 점에서 삼국시기와 고려 중엽에 이르는 불교적 유산과 조선조에 형성된 성리학적 유산들을 집중적으로 분석하고 논의하여야 할 것이다.

한국철학 연구나 한국철학연습 강좌에서 소홀히 하였던 문제들이나 주목을 받지 못하였던 특수한 문제나 철학자들을 선별하여 분석하고 논의하는 과목이다.또한 한국과 중국철학 혹은 서양철학과의 교섭을 통해서 발생한 사상을 분석하여 그 공통성과 차이 등을 살펴보아야 할 것이다. 이런 과정을 통하여 한국철학의 방법론, 범위와 한계, 한국철학사의 전체적 시각과 흐름, 방향 등을 새롭게 정리할 수 있는 것이다.

현대 영미철학의 여러 사조 및 학파들의 형성배경, 사상내용, 특징, 상호간의 공통점과 차이점, 근세 철학과의 연관성, 영미 외의 철학과의 연관성, 발전의 방향 해결하려는 문제점 등을 연구한다. 특히 언어철학, 분석철학, 과학철학, 실용주의 철학 등에 주목하며 저명한 여러 철학자들의 저서 및 논문들을 조사하여 내용을 고찰함으로써 현대철학이 지향하는 방향과 해결하려는 문제점 등을 이해하도록 한다.

20세기에 들어와서 유럽대륙을 중심으로 전개된 여러 철학사조들 현상학, 실존철학, 해석학, 사회철학, 마르크시즘, 포스트모더니즘 등에 관하여 그 원전을 강독하고 내용을 분석하여 각 사조의 특징을 파악하고 그들 상호간의 공통성과 차이성을 확인하며 근세철학과의 연관성을 검토하고 그것이 현대사회에 미친 영향 등을 파악한다.

현상학의 성립배경과 과정, 현상학의 의미와 개념사, 현상학의 철학이념과 방법, 현상학의 주제로서의 지향성 개념의 구조분석, 인식대상의 구성문제와 생활세계의 문제, 대상영역의 구분, 현상학이 여타 학문에 미친 영향 등에 관한 문제를 원전의 강독과 분석을 근거하여 발표와 토론을 한다.

동양철학의 중요한 원류중의 하나인 인도철학의 특징과 기본적인 문제들을 전체적으로 소개한다. 특히 베다, 브라흐마나, 우파니샤드, 육사외도의 철학 이외에 원시불교와의 관련성 등을 집중적으로 논의한다. 동시에 본격적인 불교철학인 부파불교의 철학과 대승불교의 성립, 정통 바라문 철학, 베단타 철학의 발전및 시바교의 종교사상까지 소개한다. 고대 인도철학 이외의 현대에 유행한 신비주의적인 관점까지 언급하여 인도철학의 본질과 핵심이 어디에 있는가를 중요한 문헌을 통하여 논의한다.

논술의 철학을 확립하기 위하여 언어활동의 철학적 인간학적 의미를 근본적으로 연구한다. 관련된 철학이론들을 조사하여 이를 종합 검토하고 이를 논술교육의 목적, 의미 등과 관련시킨다. 논리교육 및 논술교육에서 제기되는 최근의 문제들에 관한 자료를 수집, 정리하고 이를 바탕으로 논리교육과 논술교육의 현실적 요구, 창의적, 논리적, 비판적 사고 등의 고차원적 사고능력을 기르는 방안에 대하여 연구한다.

동아시아 세 지역 즉, 중국·한국·일본 지역의 고대에서 근·현대에 이르는 오랜 역사 속에서 특징있게 전개한 여러 철학사상들, 예컨대 유교·불교·도교 등을 비롯하여 특히 그와 관련된 철학사상·종교·미학·예술·문화·문학 등의 양상과 형태들을 그것들의 전개과정에서 드러나는 굴절과 변용, 심화와 퇴화, 연속과 불연속과 같은 복잡다단한 지성사의 현상(現象)이 가진 현재적 의미·의의를 캐물어 상호 비교론적으로 연구 강의한다.

중국·한국·일본의 세 지역에서 근세 이후 특징있게 전개한 신유학(新儒學) 사상들 즉 주자학, 양명학, 기철학, 고증학, 실학 등의 군상(群像)을 사상가의 생애, 사상을 잉태한 사회적 역사적 배경, 사상 내용 및 체계, 사회적·역사적 영향력, 그것들의 현재적 의미·의의를 동아시아를 시야로 해서 다양한 각도로 연구 강의한다.
[B06185] 사회및정치철학세미나 SEMINAR ON SOCIAL AND POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY (3(3))
먼저 인간이란 존재가 그 존재법칙상 사회적, 정치적 존재일 수 밖에 없다는 것을 살펴본 뒤에 인간의 사회생활 내지 정치생활의 다양한 형태 속에 나타나 있는 유형적 법칙과 구조원리를 살펴본다. 이 경우 예컨대 Tonnies의 공동사회와 이익사회의 구별, 정치체제로서의 개인주의 내지 자유주의와 전체주의 내지 집산주의의 비교적 고찰, 마르크스주의 내지 신마르크스주의와 신자유주의에 대한 비판적 검토 등이 연구의 주제로 될 수 있다.

중국 유가철학의 출발이라고 할 수 있는 선진 유가의 철학을 즉 공자, 맹자, 곽점초간, 순자의 철학을 집중적으로 분석하여 그들이 가지고 있었던 문제의식과 해결방법들을 인간관, 자연관, 도덕적인 측면과 정치철학적인 입장에서 연구한다. 동시에 선진유학과 관련되는 대학·중용·예기·역전의 부분까지 이 범위 속에 포함가능 하기 때문에 한대 이전의 유가철학의 핵심을 전체적으로 살필 수 있는 계기가 될 것이다.

본 강좌에서는 먼저 역사적 입장에서 주로 철학자들에 의한 신학의 본질에 관한 여러 견해들을 고대로부터 중세에 거쳐 근세 그리고 현대에 이르기까지 고찰하되 중세의 신중심적 입장이 근대와 현대에 이르러서 인간중심적 입장으로 변천하면서 신관념이 현저히 변화하는 양상을 중점적으로 살펴보고 난 뒤에 철학적 신론의 핵심적 주제들 특히 신논증, 신의 속성, 신과 인간 또는 세계와의 관련 죄와 구원 등의 문제들을 고찰하게 될 것이다.

반주자학의 이념으로 중국 명대에 왕수인(양명)에서 시작된 심학 즉 양명학의 형성배경, 학설 내용 및 체계, 분파 및 중국과 다른 지역으로의 전개과정, 그리고 각 지역의 근·현대사에 끼친 영향, 현재적 의미·의의를 원전과 종래의 연구를 폭넓게 검토하면서 다양한 각도에서 연구 강의한다.

예술의 형식과 미적 가치, 예술품의 창작과 감상을 통한 미적 경험 등을 중심으로 하여 예술과 철학, 미학과 예술철학과의 관련성에 관하여 연구한다. 예술작품에 대한 가치판단으로서의 예술비평의 목적과 기능을 미학적으로 고찰하며 예술 이론의 역사를 고찰하면서 문화와 사회의 형성에 있어서 미와 예술의 의의 나아가 예술적 활동이 갖는 철학적 인간학적 의미를 연구한다.

위진시대의 철학은 보통 삼현학이라고 말하여 노자, 장자, 주역이 집중적으로 연구되는 시기이다. 또 신도가의 철학이라는 명칭으로도 불려지는데 이것은 바로 그들이 도가적인 관점에서 철학을 하고 있다는 말이다. 이 과목에서 집중적으로 다루어야 할 문제는 유와 무, 명교와 자연 등의 문제와 경전 해석의 방법론 등을 중점적으로 분석한다. 동시에 왕필, 곽상, 하안, 승조 등의 철학사상을 연구하기 위하여 그들의 대표적인 문헌을 선택하여 분석하고 논의한다.

유·불·도, 기독교 상호간에 이질적 논리, 사고 패턴으로 인해 생겨난 동양과 동양, 동양과 서양 또는 같은 지역 내부의 종교, 철학, 신앙의 만남·갈등·화해·이해·오해·굴절·변용과 같은 복합적이고도 중층적인 현상들을 그것이 문제화되고 논쟁화 되었던 관념 혹은 개념, 주제, 교리와 교학 체계에 초점을 맞추어 토론한다.
[B06322] 윤리및법철학세미나 SEMINAR ON ETHICS AND PHILOSOPHY OF LAW (3(3))
윤리와 법의 상호관계를 고찰하며 그 공통점과 차이점을 파악하는데 중점을 둔다. 그 공통점은 양자가 인간의 생활의 규범을 제공함으로써 사회적 질서를 확립하는 것이다. 그러나 윤리는 자율과 자유에 기초를 두고 있는 반면 법은 타율과 강제에 기초를 두고 있다. 이러한 문제들을 윤리학과 법철학에 관한 고전강독과 분석을 통하여 파악하고 질의 토론을 통하여 그 이해를 심화시킨다.

여러 학회지 등에 보고된 최근의 자연 및 과학 철학 관련 논문, 저서의 내용을 학생들로 하여금 조사연구 발표케 한다. 경우에 따라서는 중요시되는 문헌들을 택하여 학생들이 각자 분담하여 내용을 발표하고 다른 문헌들과 비교하고, 토론한다. 현대 과학 이론들에 개입된 다양한 형이상학적, 인식론적, 논리학적 전제들을 찾아내고 이들의 자연 철학적 의미를 파악한다.

주역이 가지고 있는 세계관, 인간관 등의 문제를 경문과 역전 등의 분석을 통하여 밝히고 후대에 이루어진 제가의 해석들을 정리하여 분석한다. 주역에 대한 주석과 해석은 사실상 특정한 시대의 철학적 경향과 거의 일치하기 때문에 역학사의 문헌적 연구와 분석을 통하여 철학사의 흐름과 연관시켜 논의하는 연구 역시 중요하다. 이런 기본문헌과 주석의 연구를 통하여 주역의 본질을 철학적으로 이해하도록 하고 앞으로의 해석 가능성 등을 조명한다.

중국철학에서 논의된 여러가지 철학적 쟁점, 방향, 학파, 제 철학가의 특징들을 선별하여 연구·토론한다. 특히 여기에서 강조되는 주제들은 주로 고대로부터 최근세에 이르기까지 논의되어 온 철학적 핵심 개념들에 대한 통시적 연구와 개별적으로 형성된 특수문제와의 관련성이란 측면이 동시에 조명되어야 할 것이다. 구체적으로는 유가, 도가, 불교에서 강조하는 핵심적인 토픽이나 한 철학가를 선정하여 발표하고 토론한다.

중국의 5·4운동이래 진행되어 온 일련의 철학적 활동들 속에는 상당히 광범위하고도 심도있는 철학적 문제들이 논의되었다. 이는 유학이 불교에 대응해서 성리학을 만들어낸 것처럼 서양의 문화와 철학에 대한 중국 전통철학의 현대적 응전 혹은 반응이 바로 중국현대철학의 핵심이다. 이런 각도에서 과학과 현학의 논전, 중체서용과 서체중용, 현대신유가의 웅십력, 양수명, 호적, 풍우란, 하린, 모종삼 등의 이론들을 통하여 중국과 서양철학의 만남과 융합을 살펴보고 중국전통철학에 대한 맑시즘적 해석 등을 깊이 있게 연구한다.

한국철학에서 논의된 다양한 철학적 쟁점, 문제의식, 경향, 학파와 여러 철학자들이 다루었던 제 문제들을 선별하여 토론한다. 특히 이 강좌에서 중점적으로 논의되는 문제들은 결코 한국철학의 주류하고 할 수 있는 유가와 불교에만 한정되는 것이 아니라 도교와 한국에서 자생한 종교 그리고 20세기 이후에 수입된 서양철학의 문제까지 범위가 될 수 있다. 필요한 경우 서양철학과의 합동강의 역시 고려되어야 할 것이다

일반 형이상학의 여러 문제들, 형이상학의 의미와 개념의 성립과정, 존재개념의 초월성과 수렴성, 존재의 내적 구성계기, 존재의 외적 제한 원리, 존재의 생성원리, 존재와 무의 관계, 형이상학과 존재론의 공통점과 차이점, 형이상학의 학문성격에 관한 긍정론과 부정론의 견해를 주제로 문헌연구와 질의 토론을 병행한다.

중국, 한국, 일본에서 논의된 유가철학의 중요한 주제나 학파를 선택하여 집중적으로 토론한다. 이 세미나를 통하여 유가철학의 근본적인 도, 덕, 천, 인, 리기, 성인 등의 문제들을 중심으로 한 유가의 기본적 의미를 분석하고, 그런 문제들이 선진유학이나 신유학 등에서 어떤 식으로 전개되는가를 다루려고 한다.

철학상담은 현대에 정립된 철학의 새로운 분야지만, 그 뿌리는 고대로까지 거슬러 올라간다. 상담 훈련을 받은 철학자가 가치관의 혼란을 겪고 있는 내담자들을 도와 그들 스스로 그러한 곤경을 극복할 수 있게 해 주는 활동이 철학상담이다. 철학상담학의 창시자라 할 수 있는 아헨바흐나 레베 등을 중심으로 주요한 철학상담 이론을 살펴보고 철학 상담의 근본개념들과 방법론에 대해 연구한다.

20세기 이후 현대 학문을 주도하고 있는 철학적 방법론이자 새로운 세계해석으로서 해석학이 가지고 있는 근본특성과 그 의미를 다룬다. 주요한 현대 해석학자로는 딜타이, 하이데거, 가다머, 레비나스, 리꾀르, 데리다 등이 있다. 이들 중심 사상가들의 이론과 핵심개념들을 비판적으로 검토한다.

20세기 중반 이후 인문과학적 담론을 주도하고 있는 현대 프랑스 철학의 주요 쟁점과 이론을 소개하고 비판적으로 평가한다. 특히 과학철학자인 바슐라르, 현상학자인 사르트르와 퐁티, 해석학자인 레비나스와 리꾀르, 구조주의자인 라깡과 알튀세 그리고 후기 구조주의자인 푸코와 데리다, 들뢰즈 등을 중심으로 현대 프랑스 철학이 지닌 문제의식과 사유논리를 검토할 것이다.

This course deals mainly with methods and some scholarly points of view needed particularly for the study of eastern philosophies. It discusses the developmental history of philosophical methods in eastern philosophy, the phrasal, bibliographical and exegetical studies of Chinese classics, extending the idea(ge-yi) of Buddhism, and the metaphysical and introspective ethics of Confucianism. It not only uses as thinking tools intuition, analogy, negational methods of description which uniquely pertains in eastern philosophy, and holism, but also introduces current tendencies in methodology as well as comparative studies among different philosophies.

The most basic work in the studies of oriental philosophy could be correct interpretation and evaluation of the previous annotations as to the original text books or Classics. For instance, it is necessary to investigate whether the materials and contents of commentary, sub-commentary, exegesis as to Confucius classics and of sastra, exegesis, sub-commentary as to Buddhist classics are authentic and systematically related to each other.

This study deals first with ethical concepts and issues, such as its characteristics, scope, relationship with laws and politics, human nature and its scope, motives and purposes in our action, distinction between good and evil, free-will and determinism. The course then looks through the development of Ethics on its historical timetable.

European philosophy consists of German phenomenology, hermeneutic and critical theory on the one hand, and French structuralism and post-structuralism or postmodernism on the other. The lecture will explore the overall trend of European philosophy. Furthermore we will study the fundamental characteristics of European philosophy, the uniqueness of each ideological system, and the differences between these systems.
