한국고대사 연구에 있어서 가장 어려운 점은 사료의 제한이라 하겠다. 특히 문헌자료가 절대부족하고 이의 활용에 있어서도 많은 문제점이 따르고 있다. 따라서 문헌자료에 대한 성격규명과 사료활용상의 문제점 등을 살펴보고, 고고학·인류학·사회학·고대어·지리학 등 인접학의 이론과 성과활용에 대한 문제점을 살펴본다.

고대 그리이스 로마시대의의 역사에서 쟁점으로 부각되는 주제와 문헌들을 선정하여 집중적으로 다룬다. 특히 아테네 민주정치, 기원전 5세기의 사상적 변화, 노예제, 헬레니즘시대의 사회경제의 구조, 로마공화정의 발달과정, 로마제국의 몰락의 요인들에 관한 주요 문헌을 수집하여 쟁점과 동향에 관한 문헌의 지식을 높인다.

서양사의 각 시대와 정치, 경제, 사회, 사상사 등 각 분야별로 주요한 사료와 문헌을 선정하여 비판적으로 숙독한다.
[B02297] 서양사상사연구 STUDIES IN HISTORY OF WESTERN THOUGHT (3(3))
서양의 사상사적인 흐름을 고대부터 현대에 이르기까지 주제별로, 인물별로 나누어서 주요한 주제를 뽑아서 사상가의 저작이나 기타 원사료를 읽고 속해 있는 시대와 사회적 구조와 관련시킴으로서 사상적인 역할을 탐구한다. 고대의 극작품과 철학자들, 역사사상가들을 집중적으로 다루면서 로마와 그리이스의 민주정치나 학문의 조류에 대한 이해를 높인다. 중세의 교회사상가, 중세말의 인문주의적인 사상가들의 저작과 사료를 읽고 중세의 정신적인 구조와 정치, 사회구조와의 관계 및 변화를 연구한다. 근대의 시민사회의 사상적 밑받침이 되는 자유주의, 합리주의적 사상가와 산업화 이후의 노동문제와 사회주의적인 혁명에 밑받침이 되는 급진주의 사회주의적 이론가들의 저작을 읽고 연구한다.

서양사 전반에 걸쳐 중요한 역사 사적이나 연구업적에 대한 강독이 이의 내용을 이룬다. 영어로 된 자료를 주로 다루겠으나 수강생의 필요에 따라선 독일어나 불란서어로 된 사적이나 연구서도 강독한다.

일반적인 시대사나 개설사에서 다 포함되지 않는 영국, 러시아, 독일, 미국, 프랑스 등 유럽각국의 지역적인 특수한 역사의 특성을 배우기 위하여 개설한 이 과목은 (1)과 (2)와 균형을 맞추어서 내용을 배분한다. 각 국별로 민족 혹은 지역적인 특수구조를 추출하기 위하여 정치, 경제, 사회, 문화 모든 분야의 주제를 포함한다.

러시아사와 동유럽사의 분야에서 가장 최근의 주요 주제와 쟁점, 연구문헌을 광범위하게 읽고 검토하면서 더욱 심도있는 연구를 위한 기초를 준비하게 한다.

중세유럽의 역사에서 쟁점으로 부각되는 주제와 문헌들을 선정하여 집중적으로 다룬다. 특히 샤를르마뉴시대의 국가-교회와의 관계, 중세상업의 부활, 고전적 장원제도의 성장과정, 13·14세기 중세유럽의 변화, 중세의 카톨릭 내부의 변동과 개혁운동, 장원제의 붕괴과정에 관한 주요문헌을 수집하여 쟁점과 서술동향에 관한 문헌의 지식을 높인다.

서양현대사의 제 문제 중에서 특히 학과들간의 커다란 논쟁의 대상이 하고 있는 토픽들에 대하여 지금까지의 연구동향을 살펴본다.

조선조 후기의 실학의 개념, 발생배경, 실학자의 계보, 실학사상의 사회개혁사상으로서의 추이를 점검하고 실학의 개념, 실학과 개화사상과의 관계 등을 연구한다. 또한 실학연구사도 점검한다.

한국민족운동사의 맥락과 민족운동의 발전단계를 구명하고 한국근대민족운동사의 특징 및 그 실체를 파악하여 그 위상을 정립한다. 한국근대민족운동사는 세계사적 추이로서 민족적 자립과 근대화라는 이중적 과제 속에서 전개된 반제반봉건운동이었다. 따라서 이 운동이 지향한 새로운 국가의 이념과 정체가 무엇인가 하는 문제 등 많은 연구과제가 내재되어 있다. 분단된 독립국가를 이룬 현실에서 한국근대민족운동사의 객관적이고 과학적인 연구는 중용한 과제의 하나이다.

당대 사료가 부족한 고대사 연구를 위하여, 또 중앙사를 중심으로 남은 사서를 보완하는데 중요한 자료인 각종 금석문을 조사, 그 내용을 판독 정리하고, 또 그 자료가 있는 지역을 조사하여 거기서 얻은 자료를 통하여 사회체계의 여러면을 밝혀낸다.

한국사에 있어서 정권의 추이과정을 사화와 당쟁이라는 형태의 분석을 중심으로하여 체계적으로 연구 분석한다.

한국의 과학, 기술, 예술, 종교, 의식주생활 등의 발전과 영향을 여러 자료를 통하여 연구하며 고대의 생활사를 집중 조명하며, 이 분야에서의 인근 국가와의 상이점, 제 국가간의 교류에 대하여 고찰한다.

한국고대와 중세문화는 불교와 깊은 관련이 있다. 한국의 원시종교 내용을 먼저 살펴보고 삼국시대 불교의 수용과 정치발전 그리고 문화의 성격을 분석한다. 또한 고려의 건국과 불교의 관계, 려말선초 불교의 역할 등을 찾아내고 불교가 한국 민족문화속에 끼친 영향을 조명한다.

한국의 역대 지방제도 가운데 군현제, 외관제, 향리제도를 중심으로 지방통치 체제와 지방사회의 발전과정 등을 연구한다. 특히 영남 지방의 한 지역을 선정하여 이를 조명하여 중앙에서의 통치조직이 지방에 실제적으로 시행되어 나온 현상까지 검토하도록 한다.

8‧15 이후 남북한 현대사의 전개과정에서 나타난 민주화운동․통일운동을 비롯한 여러 문제 가운데 주요 이슈를 선택하여 관계 사료와 논저를 중심으로 연구한다.

이 과목은 일본사에 있어서 주요한 문제 즉 시대별 주요 사건, 제도, 인물과 사상 등과 학설사의 주요 쟁점을 연구하는 과정이다. 따라서 강의 내용은 일본사에 있어서 주요 개념과 문제 및 쟁점에 관한 한국, 일본, 미국 등 여러 나라 학자들의 기존 학설과 연구를 폭넓게 고찰하는 것이다. 그러나 역사적 시간대가 길고 범위가 광범위한 만큼 강의 범위를 학기 별(1학기, 2학기)로 고, 중세와 근 현대로 나누어 진행한다.

조선왕조전기(15~16세기)의 제 문제(양반'성리학'과거제도'수취체제'지방제도'병제)를 연구한다. 조선왕조 후기(17~19세기)의 제문제(임진왜란, 대동법, 균역법, 신분제도, 이서층의 변화, 향촌지배질서의 변화, 상'공업사, 농업사, 서원, 민란)를 연구한다.

이 강좌는 석사학위과정 학생에 한하여 수강할 수 있으며, 학위논문 작성이나 자신이 관심을 가지는 구체적인 연구와 관련된 주제를 대상으로 이를 심화학습하기 위한 목적으로 개설하였다. 본 강좌를 수강하는 학생은 담당교수와 주기적으로 만나 자신의 연구진행상황을 보고하여야 하며, 학기말에 그 결과물을 보고서 형태로 제출하여야 한다.

중국선사시대부터 후한제국이 몰락하는 3세기까지를 주제 또는 시기를 선정하여 연구한다. 봉건제도, 제국의 수립, 유교의 성립문제 등과도 같이 고대적 특성이면서 후대문화의 원형이 되고 있는 사항에 대하여는 보다 중점적으로 연구하며, 이 시대에 관한 연구자나 시대구분 문제 등에 대해서도 고찰한다.
[B12702] 동아시아국제관계사연구 HISTORY OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS IN EAST ASIAN (3(3))
이 과목은 주로 19세기-20세기에 걸쳐 東洋 3國(중국, 일본, 한국)과 기타 주변 국 간에 전개된 근대적 외교관계의 고찰을 주 내용으로 한다. 근대적 외교관계라 함은 근대서구 세력의 동양으로의 팽창에 따라 동양에서도 보편적으로 적용된 國家 간의 관계를 말하는 것이다. 따라서 이 과목에서는 자연히 동양 諸國간의 외교관계뿐만 아니라 서구열강과 日帝의 제국주의 정책과 그로 인해 파생된 열강과 동양 諸國과의 관계도 함께 考究한다.

동양근대사를 중심으로 하여 중국근대사에 관한 전반적인 개요와 교수의 강의와 학생들과의 토론을 통해 학생들이 기존 논문을 종합·체계화해서 발표한다.

동양근대사 연구는 중국근대사를 주 대상으로 한다. 시대구분 상 본 과목에서의 중국근대사의 기간은 19세기 중반 牙片戰爭期(1839-42)부터 1911년 辛亥革命 때까지로 설정하고 있다. 본 과목의 교수내용은 중국 근대사의 개념과 通時代的 특징과 함께 근대사 기간의 주요한 역사적 사건, 제도, 인물과 사상, 정치, 경제, 사회 상황과 그와 관련한 諸 학설 및 쟁점을 기존 연구서적과 논문들을 통하여고찰하는 것이다. 사용되는 Text는 漢文으로 된 원사료와 中, 韓, 英, 日語로 된 專書와 논문들이며 매 학기 중국근대사에 관한 전반적 개요에 관한 교수의 강의와 함께 학생들과의 토의를 통해 정해진 주요 주제에 대해 발표와 토론식으로강의가 진행된다.

동양의 역사를 이해하는데 사료 또는 간접사료의 역할을 하는 문헌을 선정하여 서지학적인 검토를 병행하여 고찰한다.

동양사 연구에 기본이 되는 역사적 기록이나 문헌을 선별하여 강독한다. 역사의 연구가 사료내용의 해독, 분석, 비판 및 분석된 사료를 종합 집성하는 일을 기본으로 함을 감안하여 강독을 통해 사료를 독자적으로 취급 처리할 수 있는 능력이 배양되도록 하고, 역사논문 작성을 위한 직접적인 훈련이 되게끔 한다.

동양의 제민족을 몇 개의 지역별로 나누어 살피고 있다. 특히 일본, 북아시아, 중앙아시아 중에서 하나를 택하여 집중해서 연구한다.

동양현대사 연구과정의 주 영역은 중국현대사이다. 이 과목에서는 학생들로 하여금 中國現代史上 주요한 문제와 쟁점에 대한 기존 학설들을 고찰케 하며 그것들에 대한 학생들의 독자적인 인식을 갖는 훈련을 하는 것이다. 따라서 이 과목에서는 중국현대사에 관하여 정치, 경제, 사회, 사상 등 범주별 주제를 정하고 그에 따른 한국, 중국, 미국, 일본학자들의 기존 연구 업적들을 연구하며, 학생들도 자신의 주제를 선택 연구하고 보고서를 제출케 한다. 강의 방식은 학생들의 발표와 토의 및 교수의 논평과 지도로 진행된다.

서양의 시대사, 지역사, 부분 영역별의 역사 전반에 걸쳐 가장 최근의 연구동향을 살피고 특히 최근문헌, 학술잡지에 나타난 해석의 조류나 새역사 사고, 이론을 배우게 한다. 그리하여 정통해석이나 사고를 비판하고 수정할 수 있는 안목을 키우고 새로운 연구의 개척분야에 대한 관심을 높인다.

서양사의 전시대에 걸쳐 나타난 서양사에서 중요한 사건, 전환기의 인물, 사상 등에 관한 기초적 지식을 습득케 한다. 쟁점을 둘러싼 여러 접근의 방법, 사료의 종류, 역사가와 사료와의 관계, 역사개념의 정의에서 일어나는 제 문제점 등을 배우고 문제의식을 키우는데에 이바지한다.
