Yeungnam University Department of Family and Housing Studies (dean Sang-wook Hong) was selected as the \"Design Department Contract Operation Project\" hosted by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy and the Korea Institute of Design Promotion. Thus, Yeungnam University Department of Family and Housing Studies was selected consecutively since 2008 and will receive government funding worth 12 million won.

The \'Design Department Contract Operation Project\' is a program for training and employing company-customized design experts that perform practical education for seniors in design-related majors at 4 year universities.

Thus, Yeungnam University Department of Family and Housing Studies operates a course that focuses on practical education needed by companies and gives 2 credits to students that complete the class. In addition, the top students also have the benefits of given priority for employment at the corresponding company when they graduate.

This year, 6 students were selected from seniors in the Department of Family and Housing Studies. During this semester, they will be working with the interior design of a finance institute that are being performed by Daehan A.I and the interior design projects of expressway rest areas that are being performed by Won International, respectively. These 6 who possess design-related national certificates and computer certificates will have the opportunity to test their abilities in the real world before they graduate in June. They will also receive compensation for their work for the project.

Professor Ok-hee Ahn (48) who is supervising this project states, \"We will get feedback from the previous year\'s performance in order to run a stronger program this year.\" She also added, \"Since we\'ve been selected for the program that ensures full-time employment in times where it has become difficult for college graduates to find a job, we will focus on training general specialists that have a wide range of knowledge on various fields, while specializing in one, so that they could be utilized by companies.
