Photonics and nanotechnology are world-widely known as the most significant technological frontiers currently being explored. 
The Institute of Photonics & Nanotechnology was established in March 7, 2001 to provide a research ground for the growing interests in these exciting fields. The role of the institute is encouraging information exchange between research members to nucleate individual and group efforts in various research areas.

The scopes and the activities of the Institute are :
