Emphasized On ‘New Spirit and New Start’,
Putting Prior Importance On Stability and Substance of Foundation

 The inauguration of the 17th chairman of Yeungnam Academy, the school foundation, was held at the Chunma Arts Center Chamber Hall of Yeungnam University in Aug. 18. 
 

 Through the inauguration address of this day, chairman Woo, Eui-Hyung (61, Photo) has expressed \"the redistribution of resources and sound financial management through choice and centralization while raising productivity and efficiency of school management system with a goal of re-entering as a prestigious private university\'\" by saying that \"I will put the emphasis on accomplishing realistic goal of re-entrance in the top 10 prestigious private universities. Along with the educational goal of \'the university for the people\' and \'the university within the world\' and respect for freedom and creativity of the university, I will provide maximum support for the growth of university while adhering strictly to the rules, and putting a prior importance in string for stability and substance of the foundation.\" At the same time, he also emphasized on \"forming a united and cooperative atmosphere, promoting welfare of university members, and reasonable management of finances as well as developing the university hospital into a composite medical center of global standard\".

 Also, the chairman has expressed that \"I\'ll devote all efforts for the future of  Yeungnam Academy with engraving the talent raising and the spirit of service deep in my heart for the unity and stability, change and development of the Academy and the Nation\" and emphasized on \"All Yeungnam Academy members should make a New Start with a New Spirit\".

 Chairman Woo had graduated the College of law Seoul National University, and held posts as a president of Cheongju District Court, Incheon District Court and Seoul Administrative Court, and currently acts as a representative attorney of Lex Law Firm. As his main award records, he had received Yellow Stripes Order of Service Merit in 2006.

 Meanwhile, there are 7 directors of Yeungnam Academy including Lee, Hyo-Soo(58, President of Yeungnam University), Lee, Ho-Sung(50, President of Yeungnam College of Science & Technology), Attorney Kang, Shin-Wook (65, Former Justice of the Supreme Court), Professor Park, Jae-Gap (61, Seoul National University College of Medicine), Professor Shin, Seong-Cheol (57, KAIST), Kim, Moon-Ki(63, Top Vice Chairman of Yeungnam University\'s General Alumni Association).
