Earthquake in Japan, Let\'s Help Our Sister School N

 Yeungnam University (president Lee, Hyo-soo) has stepped up to help its sister school that was damaged by the earthquake in Japan.

 On the morning of the 14th, Yeungnam University held an emergency meeting and decided to donate funds and emergency supplies to Tohoku University, a sister school, located in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. Yeungnam University and Tohoku University has had sister school relations since 2003. 
 

 
 Accordingly, Yeungnam University has posted the \'Donation of Emergency Supplies and Funds for the Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan\' in the university homepage (www.yu.ac.kr) on the 15th to appeal to university members to participate in the donation drive. Meanwhile, the General Student Council is conducting donation drives all around campus such as the library, cafeteria and general welfare center. Plans are also being made to send emergency supplies to Tohoku University.

 In addition, Yeungnam University sent letters under the name of Lee, Hyo-soo, the president of the university, on the afternoon of the 14th to the 31 presidents of its sister schools in Japan to encourage them and also to state its intent to do its best to provide emotional and physical support.

 Furthermore, Yeungnam University is making plans to give a luncheon to Japanese students currently studying in Korea, while also providing personal support measures such as giving financial aid for tuition and living expenses to students having difficulties. There are currently 15 Japanese students in Yeungnam University.

 Meanwhile, Yeungnam University has sent out 36 exchange students to 13 universities including Tohoku University. Among them, four are currently studying at Tohoku University, where one of them are back home for vacation. The remaining three safely evacuated from Sendai and are on the move to a safer place. They are scheduled to return home soon.
